Introduction
The library has upgraded the disk storage capacity on SUNScholar, so that is now possible to host data sets that were and are used for research publications.
If you wish to formally create a research publication data management plan to fulfill funder requirements, then please click here.

Data Curation
For the moment data curation is the responsibility of the researcher until the library can properly resource itself to support this task on behalf of researchers.
Submissions
The data sets can be added when doing the initial new publication submission or can be added retroactively to old existing publications. Please see the details below for either option.
New Publications
When submitting a new publication, make sure to add ALL the bitstreams that are related to the research publication currently being submitted.
There is nothing special to do, only make sure when asked to upload bitstreams, that you upload all the related bitstreams and give them a meaningful description.
Old Publications
The retroactive submission of research publication data will be made available soon. The library is working on a workflow that is acceptable to all.
Please check here regularly for news about this service availability or else send an email to our library director, Ellen Tise (etise@sun.ac.za) to enquire.
