Default Language

The default language for all services is defined in the "build.properties" and "dspace.cfg" files.

Web UI Locale

Open the the dspace.cfg file and configure the locale as follows;

nano /home/dspace/source/dspace/config/dspace.cfg

Look for the following and configure accordingly (define supported locales FIRST, then define the default locale).

webui.supported.locales = en, en_ZA, de
default.locale = en_ZA

NANO Editor Help
CTL+O = Save the file and then press Enter
CTL+X = Exit "nano"
CTL+K = Delete line
CTL+U = Undelete line
CTL+W = Search for %%string%%
CTL+\ = Search for %%string%% and replace with $$string$$
CTL+C = Show line numbers
