Step 11. Critical after installation tasks

This customisation does NOT involve the operational creation of communities and collections. The creation of communities and collections is for the repository director/manager to determine.

Step 11.1

After the DSpace installation, the next step is to ensure that the following are completed as soon as possible.

  1. DAILY ADMIN
  2. REBUILD DSPACE
  3. REBUILD INDEXES
  4. RESTART DSPACE
  5. HANDLE SERVER
  6. INTERNET SECURITY
  7. DISASTER RECOVERY

Step 11.2

The following can be completed at a later stage.

  1. RESEARCHER AUTHORISATION
  2. RESEARCHER IDENTIFICATION
  3. CUSTOMISATION
  4. OPTIMISATIONS
  5. SYSTEM ADMIN
