- What is SafeCom?
SafeCom is a printer administration and consolidation system that allows a user to send print jobs to a virtual network printer and retrieve them at any time by swiping your student card at any SafeCom enabled printer on the network. It also provides an online management interface to manage print jobs.
- Step 1
- Select the print function from your application.
- Ensure the proper print options are selected for your print job.
- Press the "Print" or "Ok" button etc to send your print job to the campus print server.
- Step 2
- Wait for a pop-up message that will notify you that your print job has been processed on the server for printing later.
- Step 3
- Go to the nearest library SAFECOM printer and swipe your SU Student Card to print your document.

- Always do a print preview before sending a large complicated print job to the print server.
- How to apply for a Safecom account to print
- Please ask one of the library assistants to help you apply for a printing account.
- Only network registered students and staff members of Stellenbosch University may have a Safecom printing account.
- Staff members or visiting academics, Safecom printing accounts are normally managed by the departmental secretary you are affiliated with.
