It is strongly recommended that you follow this Ubuntu installation procedure which is specifically designed for a production installation of DSpace.

It is good best practice to develop installation skills on a test server first, before doing a production server installation.

Introduction

It is fairly easy to install the Ubuntu LTS server software. The following procedures apply to any LTS version of the Ubuntu server software.
