Prepare Ubuntu - Index

Step 1. Login to the remote server

It is assumed that you have installed the Ubuntu server with the OpenSSH server software and have created the default "dspace" user.

Login with Ubuntu desktop

On your client PC with the Ubuntu desktop installed, open a command line terminal by typing the following:

CTL+ALT+t

Login to your DSpace server as the "dspace" user by typing as follows in the terminal.

ssh dspace@%hostname%

Replace %hostname% with the hostname of your server.

Login with Microsoft Windows desktop

Install the following:

Start PuTTy

Login to your DSpace server as the "dspace" user.

Replace %hostname% with the hostname of your server.
