Your password expires every three months. To ensure that you are able to change your password yourself, you have to go through the following steps.

  1. If your password doesn't work anymore, visit the same page http://www.sun.ac.za/useradm and select the Forgot password link. Enter your US number and ID number to continue.
  2. Password reset via SMS is now available on http://my.sun.ac.za or http://www.mymaties.com and select the "Forgot password link. (Please note that it will only work with pre-registered primary cell phone numbers on the Universities system. That means you can only use the cell phone number that is registered as your primary cell phone number on the universities systems and no other. The option will not be available if your primary cell phone number is empty and won’t send an SMS if the number does not correspond with the registered number).
