Back to SUNScholar Search Help
A Browse Search can be conducted across all of SUNScholar, or on Faculty, Departmental or Collection level specifically. Browse Search can further be refined to browse by title, author, issue date or subject - across SUNScholar or within a specific Faculty, Department or Collection.
Communities & Collections
- Click on the Browse >> Communities & Collections index on the right-hand side of the website.
- Click on the Community (Faculty/Department) or Collection (articles/theses/dissertations) you want to search within.
- Browse this Collection according to keyword (Simple Search), title, author, advisor, issue date, subject, and/or type.
By Title
- Click on the By Title browse index on the right-hand side of the website.
- Click on one of the A-to-Z links at the top to display titles starting with a specific letter of the alphabet.
- Alternatively, type in the first few words of the title you are searching for. Search titles starting with Afrikaans and English stop words with stop words included, e.g. "The A2 criterium of PTSD as a predictor of PTSD caseness".
- Results will be displayed after clicking on the Go button.
By Author and By Advisor
- Click on the By Author or By Advisor browse index on the right-hand side of the website.
- Click on one of the A-to-Z links at the top to display author names starting with a specific letter of the alphabet.
- Alternatively, type in the first few letters of the author (surname) you are searching for.
- Results will be displayed after clicking on the Go button.
By Issue Date
- Click on the By Issue Date (date published) browse index on the right-hand side of the website.
- Select a "Month" and/or "Year".
- Alternatively, type in the date you are searching for.
- Results will be displayed after clicking on the Go button.
By Subject
- Click on the By Subject browse index on the right-hand side of the website.
- Click on one of the A-to-Z links at the top to display subjects starting with a specific letter of the alphabet.
- Alternatively, type in the first few letters of the subject you are searching for.
- Results will be displayed after clicking on the Go button.
By Type
- Click on the By Type browse index on the right-hand side of the website.
- Click on one of the A-to-Z links at the top to display types starting with a specific letter of the alphabet.
- Alternatively, type in the first few letters of the type you are searching for.
- Results will be displayed after clicking on the Go button.
- To search for a theses/dissertation, select the type "Thesis" in the Masters Degrees or Doctoral Degrees Collections.
