Internet Access
  • Only currently registered students and staff members of Stellenbosch University may have an internet account.
  • Internet accounts are normally managed by the departmental secretary you are affiliated with.
  • Click on the Stellenbosch University logo at the top left to browse this wiki and find your departments contact details.

To self-register your laptop or smartphone for wireless access

Students can now register electronic devices (laptops, tablets, etc.) online, when accessing the network via Wi-Fi hotspots with the SSID RegisterMe functionality:

  1. Download the Selfregistration guide pdf file and follow the steps.
  2. The web address for the self-registration site will load automatically for most devices, for those that don’t please connect to the following web address: https://maties2.sun.ac.za/selfreg.php
  • If you experience any problems please take your device to the IT Hub, located in Admin A, accessible from under the bridge on the Rooiplein.
