Please Note
  1. This browser window must remain open for as long as you require access to the Internet. If you close this browser window your Internet access will be closed after a short time!
  2. If you want to close the Internet connection immediately, click on the Close button.
  3. How much do I pay?



Internet Access
  • Only currently registered students and staff members of Stellenbosch University may have an internet account.
  • Internet accounts are normally managed by the departmental secretary you are affiliated with.
  • Click on the Stellenbosch University logo at the top left to browse this wiki and find your departments contact details.



To self-register your laptop or smartphone for wireless access

Students can now register electronic devices (laptops, tablets, etc.) online, when accessing the network via Wi-Fi hotspots with the SSID RegisterMe functionality:

  1. Download the Selfregistration guide pdf file and follow the steps.
  2. The web address for the self-registration site will load automatically for most devices, for those that don’t please connect to the following web address: https://maties2.sun.ac.za/selfreg.php
  • If you experience any problems please take your device to the IT Hub, located in Admin A, accessible from under the bridge on the Rooiplein.
