It is fairly easy to install the Ubuntu LTS server software. The following procedures apply to any LTS version of the Ubuntu server software.

Use the following instructions to navigate the screen when doing the installation because your mouse will not work. There is no GUI for the installation.

  • Use the "TAB" key and arrow keys to move between items.
  • Use the "SPACE" key to select items.
  • Use the "ENTER" key to activate controls/buttons.

It is good best practice to develop installation skills on a test server first, before doing a production server installation.
