Step 1
Edit the following file:
nano $HOME/source/dspace/config/dspace.cfg
Modify the "request item" settings.
See example below.

Step 2
Modify the following file:
nano $HOME/source/dspace/config/spring/api/requestitem.xml
Uncomment the request item bean and comment out the author email option.
